Windows 10 Scam Alert

Windows 10 scam alertRecently, i’ve fixed several client’s computers that were hit by scammers proclaiming to be from Microsoft

The third time they claimed that they saw the client had recently upgraded to Windows 10 and that his machine was running slow. They then went about putting on a password program trying to get the client to pay to have access to his machine again.

Although smooth talkers, they have amateur I.T skills. The password program took me all of 5 minutes to remove.

In all the cases, the modis operandi was the same: They phone you on your landline. They say they are from Microsoft and then guide you to your event logs and point out errors on your system.

Folks, in my twenty five years being in this industry, I have yet to see a computer that does not have errors in the
event logs!

MICROSOFT WILL NOT CALL YOU REGARDING PROBLEMS WITH YOUR COMPUTER!
